The people of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church believe that Christ calls us to be a church that reaches out into the community – the local community and the world as a whole – to do God’s Work with Our Hands.

 

Our mission statement, “Living in Christ – Sharing God’s Love” defines who we are as a community of Christ’s church and enables us to support more than 30 mission efforts with our time and talents.

We are a community of believers who are encouraged to live out our mission, "Living in Christ – Sharing God's Love" together through our worship, study of scripture, invitation, and opportunities to serve people in need in our community and throughout the world. 

We strive to use our hands to do God's work and to live with an outward vision.

We are a congregation of the Northern Illinois Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). In accordance with the policies of the ELCA, we welcome everyone into full fellowship in the Body of Christ as we strive to live out our baptismal covenant.
